Van dit zeldzame gebouw waren er maar enkele in heel Europa, welke bijna allemaal zijn verdwenen.

Het is gebouwd in 1894 als circusgebouw.

Tussen 1895 en 1944 was het één van de belangrijkste spektakelzalen van de stad.

Er vonden fantastische circusspektakels, revues, variétés en filmvoorstellingen plaats.

Olifanten en clowns vermaaktten de mensen van Hent en omgeving for vele jaren.

In dit circus waren er 3400 zitplaatsen.

Na een grote brand in 1920 werd het circus weer herrbouwd in 1923.

De laatste show werd gegeven in 1944.

Daarna kwam het gebouw in handen van een autoverzamelaar, de heer Mahy.

De heer Mahy kocht zijn eerste 1921 Ford T in 1944, toen niet wetende dat de verzameling in het jaar 2000 uit ruim 1000 exemplaren zou bestaan.

Vanaf 1978 was er weing activiteit meer in de garage.

Stoffige oldtimers stonden te wachten op hun lot.

Na de clowns en olifanten hebben ook de auto's het pand verlaten.

Er zijn plannen om het gebouw om te bouwen als een bibliotheek.

Mister Mahy bought his first 1921 Ford T in 1944, not knowing that he would collect more then 1000 cars in the year 2000.

From 1978 there wasn't much activity in the garage anymore.

After the clowns and elephants also the cars has left the building.

There are plans to reconvert it into a library.
